Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse Announces Tulsa Location

River Spirit Casino announced that Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse will be a part of the $335 million Phase 2 expansion.

The upscale steakhouse named after Oklahoma native and baseball legend Mickey Mantle will be the first one in Tulsa and only the second one in the state. Mantle was born and raised in Commerce, Oklahoma located an hour and a half north of Tulsa.

The steakhouse is owned by Tulsa native Monte Hough and Jim Ingram, who has been in the restaurant business since 1993. In 2000, they opened Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse in the Bricktown district of Oklahoma City and has since become a prime restaurant destination for the area.

“We are thrilled to partner with River Spirit Casino and very excited to expand our location into my hometown,” said Monte Hough, co-owner of Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse. “When River Spirit approached us, we knew it was a perfect fit to extend our brand into the Tulsa market. We look forward to bringing an exceptional dining experience to an exceptional community.”

The new restaurant will encompass 15,505 square feet. Mickey Mantle’s at River Spirit will be located thirty feet above and adjacent to the river, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the Arkansas River and Turkey Mountain. It will feature the same menu as the Oklahoma City location, specializing in prime steaks and seafood.

The Tulsa location is expected to seat over 300 people with a large bar and lounge area as well as a vast amount of private dining space.

“It is an honor to be chosen as the only Tulsa location for Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse,” said Pat Crofts, CEO of Muscogee (Creek) Nation Casinos. “With our new resort hotel, having such a successful upscale steakhouse was the perfect match for our customer demographic.”

Mickey Mantle’s will be located on the first floor of the 26-story 483 room luxury hotel, which is the hallmark of the Phase 2 expansion. Construction is set to begin in late 2014 with an estimated opening date of mid-2016, to go with the opening of the completed new casino.
